THE PROJECT
Eaton Corporation is a global technology leader in the electrical, fluid power, truck, automotive, and aerospace industries with 2009 sales of $11.9 billion. Their electrical product series and families encompass electrical control, power distribution, uninterruptible power systems (UPSs), and industrial automation products and services. Eaton Corporation has been recognized by end-users and industry experts for delivering the highest customer value and satisfaction. In March 2009, Fortune magazine named Eaton one of the world’s Most Admired Companies. Eaton was also the 2009 recipient of Ethisphere Institute’s World’s Most Ethical Companies Award.
Eaton was building a new customer support headquarters and was looking to create a professional work space that provided its employees privacy while still maintaining an open and collaborative environment. Their goal was to work with a company that paralleled their own value proposition: a company noted for their top-rate ethics and customer service, as well as one that provided sustainable product solutions and a green design. Eaton found AIS to be the perfect choice!
The Matrix product, combined with a competitive pricing program from AIS, turned out to be the perfect solution. AIS was able to create both high image stations, as well as functional employee stations with the same product. The space included a beautiful staircase design that added to the beauty of the office plan, glass tiles to allow light into each space, and towers centered between every office to create privacy.
The flexibility of Matrix was further utilized by adding stack-on frames and tiles after the completion of the project, allowing the workspace to continually adapt to Eaton’s changing needs.
