Arthur Maxwell
Chairman
Arthur Maxwell, is Founder and Chairman of AIS, Inc. one of the largest business furniture manufactures in the United States. The Massachusetts-based company was founded in 1989. In October of 2007, Audax Group—a top tier Private Equity Firm—purchased a majority interest in AIS, and Maxwell remains a significant shareholder and a company advisor. AIS is also the recipient of the 2003 SHINGO award, which is referred to as the Nobel Prize of manufacturing. Mr. Maxwell was formerly the managing General Partner of AIS Venture Fund LP, a multifaceted investment vehicle. He holds positions with Harwich One LLC, AIS Funding LLC, and AIS Equity Holdings LLC In 1998, Maxwell completed the successful sale of Sovereign Capital Corporation, which focused on real estate development and mortgage-backed securities. Mr. Maxwell has served on the Board of Directors of publicly traded US Technologies, an incubator of early stage technology ventures, as well as Krueger Brent, S. A., a multinational holding company headquartered in Luxembourg with executive offices in Switzerland. In 2004, Mr. Maxwell led the buy out of Pearl Street Capital Group, (PSCG) www.pearlcap.com. utilizes proprietary tools and methodologies to understand behaviors of private equity and venture debt portfolios. Pearl Street projects performance, simulates cash flows, assesses risk, and structures rated and non-rated leveraged transactions. From early 2004 until August of 2006, Maxwell served as the CEO of WhiteFence www.whitefence.com. Maxwell continues to sit as Chairman of WhiteFence. In late 2007, Mr Maxwell took control of EggFusion www.eggfusion.com The company pioneered its patent pending technology for freshness dating, traceabilty and advertising on Eggshells. Maxwell chairs this company In 2008, Mr Maxwell made significant investments, in Noram Partners, Inc the exclusive distribution partner for Amazon in the rapidly growing video game industry and Charity Partners, LLC a for Profit, platform seeking to establish a middle ground between commerce and philanthropy in a series of vertical markets. Maxwell has made these two investments a priority in his daily activities He currently serves as an active investor, advisor and Board member to a handful of enterprises at different stages of development, as well as sitting on the financial advisory Board of the Culinary Institute of America. Maxwell attended Boston College from 1976-1979, where he majored in Political Science and Economics. He resides in Sudbury, Mass., with his wife and three daughters.
Bruce Platzman
CEO/President
An industry veteran for 22 years, Bruce first worked in the furniture industry as a salesperson for Steelcase, later becoming general manager of that same dealership. As co-founder of AIS in 1989, Bruce has led the company in a successful transition from a leading re-manufacturer, to a premier new manufacturer. From cost control, to production, to product development, to sales and marketing, Bruce’s hands on management exemplifies AIS’s team approach to leadership
Steve Savage
Chief Operating Officer
With an extensive background in manufacturing strategic planning, Steve Savage joined AIS in 1995 to build a factory capable of handling 40 percent-plus annual growth. Since then, Steve and his team have implemented a total reengineering of AIS’s manufacturing processes by converting a long lead-time, batch and queue manufacturer into a world-class company. Steve's efforts resulted in AIS winning the prestigious Shingo Prize for excellence in Manufacturing awarded in April 2003. This lean transformation is a never-ending journey. Steve believes that any manufacturer today must implement lean practices to survive the competition from Asia and afar. Steve holds a BSME and MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Bryan Poist
Chief Financial Officer
Bryan joined AIS in the Spring of 2001. Prior to joining AIS, Bryan was CFO for a furniture manufacturer, managing all aspects of the financial dealings for the $35M company from 1995-2001. He also was responsible for initiatives to streamline production processes and implemented cost controls throughout the organization. Previously Bryan had 15 years of experience at the CFO level in real estate and travel management.
Rob Lazarus
Executive Vice President of Sales
Rob Lazarus joined AIS in 2001 with over 20 years of experience at both the dealership and manufacturing levels. Originally hired as the Western Regional Vice President, Rob developed both representation and distribution in the West and was responsible for many successful large projects. As AIS quickly developed into a national company, Rob’s role increased to include National Sales Manager and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. In 2010, Rob was named Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and now oversees the entire Sales and Marketing team. Having relocated to Massachusetts, Rob brings a dynamic energy to the sales management team at AIS, and continues to build both the domestic and international markets as well as directing the marketing efforts of AIS.
William Stewich
Vice President of Product Development
With AIS since 1992, Bill Stewich has led the product development efforts that have built AIS’s reputation for exceptional product quality and innovation. Since 1997, Bill has overseen design and development of such products as AIS MWall, Z-panel, and most recently, AIS Matrix. Prior to his engineering role, Bill held management positions at AIS in the Marketing and Design departments, where he developed the standards for all AIS product literature and electronic Design and Specification libraries.
David Bolduc
Vice President of Sales, National Accounts
As one of the founding fathers of AIS, David boasts over 29 years in the furniture industry. David began his career after graduating from the University of Maine in Orono. His achievements include starting and running an office furniture dealership, as well as partnering a large independent rep firm. David began at AIS as a National Sales Manager, covering markets all over the United States. His exceptional product knowledge, outgoing demeanor, and competitive nature have fueled him throughout his career. He is now a Vice President of Sales, managing major and national accounts. David presently resides in Davidson, North Carolina.
Greg Scher
Vice President of Operations
With a solid lean and continuous improvement background, Greg Scher joined the AIS Management team in 2004 as VP of Operations. His diverse responsibilities include the Purchasing, Customer Service, Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Control, and Field Support departments of AIS. In his career, Greg has received accreditation from GE’s Manufacturing Management Program and certification in APICS and CPM. He holds a BSEE from Suny, Buffalo, as well as an MBA from Boston University, and currently resides in North Reading, MA.
Ben Maxwell
Senior VP - Northeast US/Canada
Ben has worked in various capacities at AIS, most recently as Territory Manager for New England. He boasts over 10 years of industry and management experience. Ben has a knack for creative solutions and dedication to superior service at every level. Ben will be helping grow AIS sales and distribution by developing and managing new channels while building and nurturing key customer relationships.
Dave Morales
Senior VP - GSA Sales
Having joined the AIS team in December of 2006, David Morales is currently the Senior Vice President of GSA Sales. David brings ten years of solid experience in the furniture industry and 22 years working with the Federal Government. David’s experience with DOD and Civilian agencies make him a valuable asset when dealing with the intricacies of the Federal Market place. These qualities have made an impact on the AIS team and will continue to improve AIS’s position in the industry.
Ryan LaVangie
Regional VP of Sales - New England
Ryan LaVangie joined the AIS team in January 2009 as Regional Vice President of Sales for the New England Market. Ryan is responsible for dealer and new business development, as well as dealer distribution and territory management to sustain growth in this region. Ryan brings to AIS nearly 10 years of contract furniture industry experience, having worked as an account manager for a major competitor as well as a Senior Business Manager for another major systems furniture competitor. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the UMass Amherst School of Management.
Scott Pitel
Regional VP of Sales - PA, DE, NJ
Scott Pitel joined AIS in 2005, and has recently been promoted to Regional VP of Sales – (PA, DE, NJ). He formerly served as Territory Manager for the Upper Mid Atlantic where he was a leader is sales growth. Scott has 15 years of furniture and facilities related experience, making him a valuable asset to the AIS Sales Team. His excellent planning and project management skills, paired with his capability to set and meet deadlines, continue to lead Scott in his career at AIS. Since the beginning of Scott’s career at AIS he has consistently been a leader in sales growth and the recipient of many awards. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mark Facciani
Regional VP of Sales - Mid Atlantic
Mark joined AIS in 2006, bringing with him 7 years of furniture expertise. He previously held positions with both Kimball and National Office Furniture, developing lasting customer relationships and a wealth of product knowledge. Mark excels in dealer development by understanding their issues. Mark is now the Vice President of Sales for the Mid Atlantic, covering Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, West Virginia, Southern New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
David Moorad
Vice President of Sales - GSA
With over 10 years with AIS, David is currently Vice President of Sales-GSA as well as responsible for developing and growing our GA/FL Panhandle, AL, MS and TN markets. He brings high energy, determination and enthusiasm to the AIS team. With over 25 years of industry experience working for dealerships and manufacturers, he brings a unique understanding of the challenges of the marketplace. David currently resides in Marietta, GA.

Brian  Scranton
Regional VP of Sales - Rocky Mountain Region
Brian Scranton has been with the AIS sales team since 1998, having first held the position of Territory Manager for CO, UT, WY and NM. After leaving AIS, Brian went on to head The Scranton Group, where he successfully represented AIS in the same territory. In December of 2008, Brian rejoined AIS in his current position as Regional Vice President of Sales for the Rocky Mountain Region, responsible for providing leadership for sales efforts in this region, working closely with the company’s dealer partners to promote AIS systems solutions. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trenton State College and his MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Melissa DeBeaucourt
Territory Manager - New England
Melissa joined AIS as Regional Sales Assistant in the winter of 2004. Having held previous sales positions, Melissa thrived within the department. Her outgoing nature and ever-increasing product knowledge soon led to her promotion to New England Territory Manager. She now works out of the home office in Hudson, MA, serving the New England area dealers. Melissa also calls on the NE A&D community and is very active with IIDA New England.
Jory  Probber
Territory Manager - NY
Jory Probber has worked with AIS for the past 12 years as an Independent Rep, and joined the AIS Direct Team in 2009 as Territory Manager for the New York Market. Jory is responsible for implementing Dealer sales strategy, design consulting, process training, and managing key Dealer relationships in this market. He has represented leading manufacturers as an independent rep throughout his career, and pioneered new companies, products and concepts in the market. Jory holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Brandeis University, and currently resides in White Plains, NY.
Kathy Maslowska
Territory Manager - NY
Kathy joined AIS in October of 2007 as Sales Representative and New York City Showroom Manager, responsible for showroom presentations, dealer and end user ralations, and product mock-ups. Previously, Kathy worked with AIS Rep Firm, Bill Gross & Associates for the past six years. Kathy holds a Marketing Degree from Baruch College in NYC and currently resides in New York.
Catherine Daler
Territory Manager - NJ, PA
Catherine Daler joined AIS in 2008, as the new Territory Manager in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets. She brings with her over 12 years of industry sales experience with Steelcase and Herman Miller dealers. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ohio State University, and resides in Cranbury, New Jersey.
Mark Petenbrink
Territory Manager - Mid Atlantic
Mark has been with AIS since 2007, most recently as Territory Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, he worked in this industry for 12 years at other large manufacturers. Marks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Frostburg State University and currently resides in Maryland.
Kristin Bolduc
Territory Manager - NC
Kristin Bolduc joined AIS as a Territory Manager for The Carolinas and Southern Virginia in August 2007. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with an emphasis on Marketing from NC State University. While there, Kristin garnered key internships with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and the NC State Wolfpack Football Recruiting Team that further honed her marketing and sales skills. In her first position as a new college grad, Kristin worked for the nation’s leading provider of diagnostic laboratory testing, information, and services. During her time there, Kristin was not only an award-winning sales person, but was also fast-tracked to the highest sales position in the company. Kristin’s current AIS responsibilities include monitoring existing account segments, penetrating new market opportunities including GSA, working with the Architectural and Design Community, as well as partnering with the sales and dealer community to develop, implement, and monitor AIS sales strategies. Kristin is actively involved with a variety of organizations including Business Leaders of Charlotte (BLOC) and CoreNet Global where she sits on the communications committee.
Jim Boughey
Territory Manager - South Florida
Jim Boughey has been with AIS for the past four years, and currently holds the position of Territory Manager - South Florida. In this role, Jim is responsible for developing and servicing AIS partners in the South Florida Market. He previously served with Herman Miller for four years as Sales Manager. Jim currently resides in Miami, FL.
Bob McCartney
Territory Manager - Midwest
Bob joined AIS in May 2007 as Territory Manager for Western PA, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia. Bob brings 25 years of outstanding industry related experience to AIS, from both a dealer and a manufacturer’s perspective. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University, and has won several sales awards throughout his career. Bob currently resides in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.
Mike  Engebose
Sales Manager - Western Region
Mike Engebose joined the AIS team in February of 2009 as Territory Manager for the Pacific Northwest, covering Washington, Oregon, and Vancouver, British Columbia. He is responsible for implementing selling strategies, generating opportunities, and leading business development activities within his market. Mike brings over 25 years of industry related experience to AIS including both manufacturing and dealer distribution. He holds a B.S. in Accounting, and currently resides in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Wendy Sanchez
Territory Manager, Southern CA
Wendy joined the AIS sales team in August of 2007 as Territory Manager for Southern California. Having previously worked for a Contract dealer in Orange County, CA, she brings with her 5 years of industry related experience. She is responsible for dealer development, servicing existing AIS dealers, as well as looking for new commercial and GSA opportunities. Wendy currently resides in Orange County, CA.
Roberto Rodriguez
Territory Manager- Puerto Rico & Latin America
Roberto began his career at AIS in January 2007. He attended College in Puerto Rico at the World University in San Juan, and entered the furniture industry in 1992. Roberto has worked with several office furniture manufacturers and has been selling AIS product for the past decade. He is now the Territory manager for Puerto Rico and Latin America, and hopes to expand the AIS market throughout these regions.
Amy Beaulieu
Inside Sales Strategist
Amy began her career with AIS in April of 2005. Amy’s strong work ethic and dedication to AIS led to her most recent position as Inside Sales Strategist. She now organizes bid opportunities, competitive strategies and forecasting. Additionally, Amy assists the Sales Team with special projects and training. Amy’s positive attitude and focus have made her an invaluable asset to the company. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Fitchburg State College.
Elena Goudey
Tour & Hospitality Coordinator
Elena began her career at AIS in May of 2000 as a Customer Service Representative. Elena’s personable, outgoing nature helped her build lasting customer relationships, and proved to be invaluable in taking on the role of Receptionist in 2004. Having flourished in this role and ready to take on new responsibilities, Elena continued her AIS career as an Inside Sales Strategist, organizing bid opportunities, competitive strategies and forecasting in conjunction with the Sales team. Recently, Elena has taken on the position of Tour/Hospitality Coordinator where she responsible for booking and planning all AIS factory/showroom tours, as well as organizing new dealer registrations and sales support. Elena holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Framingham State College, and currently resides in Attleboro, MA.
Mitzi Morgan
Inside Sales Support
Mitzi Morgan has been a part of the AIS Inside Sales team since 2005. In her support role, Mitzi is responsible for assisting Independent Reps with SalesLogix updates, dealer agreements, and dealer programs. She also assists the Senior Vice President team and National Account Manager, as well as oversees GSA Lead Distribution. Mitzi is a graduate of Santa Ana Jr. College, and currently resides in Orange, CA.

Erin Torres
Director of Marketing
Erin Torres became Marketing Director for AIS in 2004. Her love of taking on new challenges and changing old mind sets brought a fresh approach to the company’s marketing efforts. In this role she is responsible for development and implementation of all AIS Marketing initiatives including corporate branding, public relations, print/collateral, and website design/development. Erin has taken a lead role in defining and implementing sustainability initiatives that benefit both the company and its products. Passionate about the environment, Erin enjoys learning about new environmental standards, programs and materials which may benefit AIS and its end-users. Overseeing a talented team, Erin has leveraged her portfolio of qualifications and achieved success with the company including a complete corporate re-branding in 2005 and website redevelopment in 2008. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations.
Cesira Newcomb
Marketing Web Specialist
Cesira Newcomb joined the Marketing team in April of 2008 as the Marketing Web Specialist. She is responsible for managing day-to-day tasks of the web team, planning and executing new projects, involvement in the creation of web content, and assisting the marketing team with interactive design. Cesira came to AIS from a marine dealership where she held the position of Sales & Marketing Coordinator, responsible for web site, ad creation, e-newsletters and more. She has a BS from Bentley College in Information Design & Corporate Communications with a concentration in Web Design.
Keith Murphy
Web Developer
Keith Murphy came aboard the Marketing Team in June 2010 as a Web Developer. He is responsible for all new tools and development on the AIS web site for both external and internal users, such as correcting errors that may appear or suggesting and implementing new technologies and projects. Keith has 7 years of experience in the IT and development field. He holds an associate's degree in Computer Technology from Fisher College and is currently completing the Computer Science program at Clark University.
Daniela Porcelli
Receptionist
Daniela Porcelli joined AIS at the start of 2010 as our Receptionist. She is responsible mainly for handling the switchboard and fulfilling literature and sample requests, as well as various other smaller tasks. Previously, Daniela attended FlightSafety International to obtain her Aircraft Dispatchers License before working in the corporate aviation industry.
Meaghan Bradley
Customer Service & Design Manager
With AIS since 2005, Meaghan most recently holds the position of Customer Service and Design Manager. She has received several awards from AIS, including the Rising Star Award in 2006, the Shining Star Award in 2007, and the Superstar Award in 2008. Meaghan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut.

With AIS since 2005, Meaghan most recently holds the position of Customer Service and Design Manager. With AIS since 2006, Sarah has been a Design Services Representative, handling many of the Design Quotes and Design Checks submitted by dealers. Previously, Sarah worked for Staples as a Designer and was quickly promoted to a Furniture Product Sales Specialist. After selling for about a year, she wanted to get back into design and moved on to AIS.
Brett Poist
Design Service Representative
As a member of the AIS family since June 2004, Brett has held the position of Design Service Representative. Brett’s responsibilities include ensuring that all furniture plans and designs are compatible with AIS guidelines, as well as offering suggestions and value engineering for working designs. Brett holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from New England Tech.
Monaca Cisek
Design Service Representative
Monaca has been with AIS since 2008 as a Design Services Representative, checking and updating dealer drawings for accuracy. Prior to joining AIS, Monaca spent three years as a designer for a systems furniture dealer, working mainly with car dealerships. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Monaca currently resides in Minnesota.
Chelsea Snow
Design Service Representative - LEED AP
Chelsea joined AIS Design Team in October 2009. She holds substantial design experience in the systems furniture world. Throughout her college years she had the opportunity to work side by side with Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth and Izzy while attending Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. Chelsea has worked for an AIS dealership in the Boston area which gave her increased exposure on how to specify AIS products in real-life applications. Chelsea is a LEED Acredited Professional and holds a BFA in Interior Design from Kendall College of Art and Design.
