AIS Introduces DiVi at NeoCon East 2006

AIS is proud to unveil DiVi at NeoCon East 2006. DiVi answers the need for a cost-efficient monolithic system that offers stacking capabilities and can also bear a segmented look. DiVi is perhaps the single most competitively priced panel system on the market today and will be available for order entry the end of January 2007.

Designed to utilize minimal parts, yet offer unparalleled performance, DiVi offers one of the largest data capacity raceways for a 2” thick panel system. Easy to specify and assemble, the new system is the perfect combination of simple design and extensive capabilities. Monolithic panels and segmented panels can be combined in any application for maximum value and design flexibility.

Key System Features Include:

- Enhanced 6” tall raceway includes data/power separation standard on powered panels, and the ability to place 4 duplex outlets per panel side, or a combination of duplex outlets and various data jack solutions panel side.

- Unique hinge connection design means quick install, and easy reconfiguration with no tools and easy high to low panel applications.

- Segmented skin options allow for extensive design application, including ½ glass and ¼ glass segments. All segmented panels ship assembled from the factory.

AIS Restructures Senior Executive Team

To facilitate future growth, AIS has made changes to its Senior Executive Management team.

Michael Dugally has been promoted to President, and Steven Savage has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Both Dugally and Savage have been with AIS for nearly 10 years; collectively they have carried a variety of responsibility directly attributing to AIS’ success and growth in recent years.

“One of the things great companies often do is take advantage of the good times to find ways to be even better. We are grateful for our past success, but also realize our competition is growing fiercer every day; we are seeing competitors bring new products to market faster than ever before. I am confident these changes will help AIS not only grow, but continue to remain an aggressive and competitive player in the commercial furniture market,” said Bruce Platzman, CEO of AIS.

Prior to the promotion, Dugally worked in the capacity of Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Dugally’s vision both from a Marketing and Strategic Sales perspective has been the foundation for AIS’ ability to grow from $15M in sales in 1998 to over $65M today. In his new role Dugally will focus his efforts on strategic Marketing and Sales initiatives.

Savage previously held the position of Vice President of Manufacturing. With AIS now for 10 years, Savage holds an appreciation for not only the manufacturing disciplines critical to AIS, but also for the sales and customer relations aspects of the business. His demonstrated leadership will help AIS develop process controls in all facets of company operations, and in the end deliver increasingly consistent, high-quality products and services to our customers.

AIS Fiscal YTD Sales up 40.2%

Privately held AIS (formerly known as Affordable Interior Systems) is reporting a 40.2% increase in sales for the first 7 months of its fiscal year annualizing at $65M.

In the last year, AIS has enjoyed substantial growth. In FY ‘05 the company’s sales increased 47%. “We attribute our continued growth to the success of our distribution development efforts. In virtually every market across the country, we’re finding new dealers who are able to leverage the price, lead time, quality, flexibility and design features of AIS’ systems product lines,” said Michael Dugally, Executive Vice President of AIS.

Additionally, AIS has been heavily investing in corporate/brand marketing to reinforce its new corporate identity. To further compliment these initiatives, AIS is tripling its showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, renewing its existing lease early to facilitate the expansion.

“This gives AIS an opportunity to showcase at NeoCon 2006 many of the new products emerging in next 6 months. It also allows us to display the new AIS and reinforce to the market what we can do. As important, we wanted to make a greater commitment to the Midwest markets, where new dealer growth this year has resulted in regional sales increasing over 100%,” said Dugally.

AIS Gets a Makeover

AIS launches a new corporate branding campaign to bring the company to the next level. To kick off the campaign AIS has introduced a new logo, offering an enhanced, mature look reflecting the significant growth and success the  company has endured over the last few years. AIS’ new look represents the evolution of the company to a nationally known systems furniture provider, accepted by clients, designers, and dealers.

Additional changes within the branding campaign include the enhancement of print, web, and electronic communications to include a more sleek and linear design. AIS plans to integrate these changes over the next 6-9 months.

"We've reached a point in our growth where it is time to re-introduce our core image to the market. As more Fortune 500 companies and design firms are now turning to AIS as a systems furniture solution, we feel it is important our image reflects who we are - a lean, top quality value solutions provider," comments Michael DuGally, Executive Vice President.

A core component of the new logo is the unique green tone color icon, representing the company's rapidly expanding environmental initiatives. Additionally, AIS has formally dropped the previous long form name of Affordable Interior Systems. The acronym AIS signifies the simplicity of working with the company from a dealer, client, or designer perspective.

A prolific designer for over 30 years, Jhane Barnes has a long history not only in the fashion world, but also in the contract furniture industry. Beginning with textile designs for Knoll in the 1980’s that are still some of the most popular selling fabrics, to furniture design for Bernhardt, to the top selling flooring designs for Tandus, Jhane continues to expand her design influence in the market.
