AIS Honored with Boston Business Journal’s 2019 Corporate Citizenship Award

Leominster, MA – Sept. 11, 2019 – AIS, a leading manufacturer of commercial office furniture and seating, recently received the Boston Business Journal’s 2019 Corporate Citizenship Award. The award is given to the top charitable contributors in Massachusetts.

AIS was one of 105 Massachusetts-based companies recognized by the Boston Business Journal this year. To be considered for the Corporate Citizenship Award, companies must have given more than $100,000 in cash contributions to Massachusetts-based charities and social service non-profits in 2018 and demonstrated a commitment to local non-profits displayed through an exceptional amount of employee volunteer hours donated to charitable organizations.

“It means a great deal for AIS to be on the BBJ 2019 Corporate Citizenship list. We’re honored to be recognized along with so many impactful local companies. AIS strives to continue supporting our community members in need and helping to make the world a better place. We are proud of our dedicated staff involvement with community organizations that are making a difference every day in enhancing the lives of others,” AIS President and CEO Bruce Platzman said.

Examples of the nonprofit organizations that AIS supports include Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island, United Way of North Central Massachusetts, the cities of Leominster and Fitchburg, Catie’s Closet, the American Red Cross, Designs for Dignity, Worcester Animal Rescue League and the Montachusett Interfaith Hospitality Network.

AIS received the Corporate Citizenship Award at the 14th annual Boston Business Journal Corporate Citizenship Awards ceremony on Sept. 5 at Capo Restaurant and Supper Club in South Boston. Platzman accepted the award on behalf of AIS.

According to the Boston Business Journal, this year’s Corporate Charitable Contributors list is the largest that the Journal has ever had. 2019 is the first year that AIS applied for and received the award.
