Fiskars serves people around the world with globally recognized brands including Fiskars, Gerber, Iittala, Royal Copenhagen, Waterford, and Wedgwood. Best known for its orange-handled scissors created in 1967, the company operates as an integrated consumer goods company with two strategic business units: SBU Living and SBU Functional.
Recently, Fiskars consolidated their offices into a US headquarters facility in Middleton, WI, housing over 350 employees. In this new location, Fiskars was looking to accommodate each employee who has specific needs to each of their job duties while maintaining a cohesive floorplate keeping each workstation size the same. To offer employees choice and showcase their own Fiskars products, each employee was to be offered a choice in white board or tool rail to hang Fiskars products off of for easy access and brand awareness. As a corporate goal to promote health and wellness, the company wanted each employee to have a sit-to-stand desk to ensure comfort and movement. Other important features were creating multi-purpose private offices that could flex into small huddle spaces by utilizing height adjustable work surfaces. Fiskars overall goal was to create a visually interesting aesthetic in combination with offering their employees a sense of privacy in their work environment.
Solution: A combination of Matrix and Calibrate with a custom wardrobe were a perfect fit for their price point and needs of customization. For Fiskars, the cohesiveness of design aesthetics and flexibility of workspace with the AIS complementary product lines offered fit their brand and facility requirements.
