Note: This Case Study focuses on the relationship between AIS and the National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance, which we are proud to be a member.  Shelterhouse was able to purchase new furniture on a small budget because of the NCPA. AIS was the only office furniture vendor quoting this project who could offer this discounting. For more infomation on NCPA, please visit our GSA page.

Shelterhouse, based in Midland Michigan, is a nonprofit organization focusing on women who have suffered domestic abuse. The vision of the organization is to engage, cultivate and to nurture healthy relationships.  Shelterhouse was moving to a new facility and wanted their offices to provide a warm and welcoming feel to those coming in for counseling. Additionally, a crisis line is managed from the new facility and each office needed to provide privacy and comfort for the counselors. The project had a limited budget for furniture with an ultimate goal of obtaining a high quality, durable product at a price that would fit within their budget.

After meeting with Shelterhouse employees and discussing their needs, the local AIS rep and dealer made the decision to quote Calibrate Casegoods and Divi Panel System through the National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance, which AIS is proud to be part of. By accessing the NCPA contract, Shelterhouse received high quality AIS furniture at a competitive discount along with exceptional service from a local dealer. Private counseling offices were furnished with Calibrate wood laminate Casegoods and Storage, providing a warm, timeless feel. Divi Linear was choosen for the open plan environment due to it's overall durability, fast leadtimes and price.  Finally, the main training room was filled with  Pierce Seating that can easily be stacked away when not in use.
