The Boston Business Journal has released its annual list of the most charitable companies in Massachusetts and AIS is included in the 98 companies chosen.
The list, released mid-July to highlight those giving back the most, includes companies who donated at least $100,000 in cash contributions last year to Massachusetts-based charities and as much as nearly $29 million.
The top 25 alone donated more than $282 million in cash in 2020, along with millions more in in-kind services and employee volunteer hours. That’s up from the year before, when the top 25 total was $235 million, indicating companies may have stepped up their contributions during a year when the pandemic and racial equality movements spurred some businesses to make new pledges.
“The Boston business community has always been committed to helping the people and organizations in need, and 2020 was an extraordinary year,” Boston Business Journal Market President and Publisher Carolyn Jones said. “Given the many challenges we all faced, it is a true testament to the companies and the people who have given so much of their resources, money and time to help others and keep our community moving forward. We at the BBJ are grateful to have the opportunity to recognize companies large and small for the example they set for us all to do good.”
Top corporate contributors such as AIS, will be honored at the BBJ's 16th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards on Sept. 9.
