Case Studies

Commonwealth of Massachusetts

The Alcohol Beverages Control Commission is an agency under the Massachusetts State Treasury providing uniform control over the sale and other aspects of alcoholic beverages in the state. When it was time to look for furniture for their new headquarters, the team looked to AIS.  The new headquarters furniture needs included conferencing, seating, storage, touchdown stations, private offices, and workstations.

The unlimited options within the Matrix panel system allowed for the flexibility to customize individual workspaces. The numerous tile options (glass, laminate, fabric) and overall quality of Matrix was very appealing. A decision was made to include height adjustable tables in all workstations and Day-to-Day tables fit this need.  Private offices were outfitted with Calibrate Casegoods and the conference room coordinated nicely by using Calibrate Conferencing.  A need for touchdown stations arose and small Oxygen stations were proposed with desktop power modules, which the Commission saw as a unique way to give individuals the space they needed when in the office.

The final decision to partner with AIS was made because the team could support a fairly tight schedule and budget, without sacrificing aesthetics or quality.    Finally, with the Alcohol Commission being a state agency and AIS a Massachusetts manufacturer it was a natural fit.
