Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) is a primary pediatric hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In 2017, NCH made the decision to build a 4 story office building for over 400 non-clinical employees.
NCH used its internal design department to specify furniture for the new space, with workstations and private offices having similar designs to create cohesiveness throughout the building. The design was sent out to many furniture manufacturers to respond with their own products. NCH was primarily looking for a low cost solution, but knew customer service would play a big part in the decision given that the install of furniture would be happening as the building finished construction. AIS and the local AIS dealer had a long standing relationship with NCH and was quick to respond to their request for furniture. The team had proven itself in the past with quick solutions that were backed by superior customer service and installation. This, along with a low cost solution for quality products, was why AIS was chosen as the furniture provider.
Divi became the solution to the open plan offices on all four floors. It's large capacity raceway, along with the ease of installation was also a consideration in awarding the project. In addition, small breakout areas can be found throughout the floor with Volker Cubes for impromptu meetings. The private offices complement the look of the open offices with Day-to-Day tables and L Series steel storage. All employees have height adjustable tables in their offices thanks to the NCH initiative for employee health and wellness. Conference rooms are furnished with Calibrate wood laminate tables surrounded by Natick seating. In the larger conference rooms, Stow nesting chairs can be used for overflow seating. Finally, a cafe on each floor features Day-to-Day square tables with Pierce seating.
